Healthy Breast Workshop at Yoga West
One in eight American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. That startling statistic inspired Gale Edwards and Adesh Kaur to create a yoga workshop that educates women about breast health, and gives them tools to take care of themselves.
Gale Edwards is a Kundalini teacher and certified body therapist whose practice includes lymphatic cleansing and massage.
Adesh Kaur is a Kundalini teacher with experience in teaching Yogi Bhajan's yoga sets for a healthy lymphatic system.
Adesh leads women through a yoga set, or kriya, that is designed to stimulate lymphatic flow. Gale then explains why the lymphatic system is so important. Using statistics and references, she gives advice on bras, tests, diet and lifestyle, and more. She demonstrates how to conduct breast self-exams, dry brushing and massage. Adesh closes the class with a surprise activity that leaves students feeling inspired and alive.
